I have a new grandsonby Pattie, Zacks Nana It's almost 5 in the morning, I've been up over 24 hours now, I just got home and I am sitting in front of this computer reading posts, thinking, remembering and of course, crying. I hope you will all join me in welcoming Douglas Steven Simonetti to the world today. Born December 6th, 2:55 AM, 9 lbs 4 ozs, 20 inches long and when I left him and his mom and dad a little while ago, still yelling and mad as h___ at the world! But oh how sweet the sound of his voice. He's alive, healthy (Mom Too!!) and every fiber of my being aches to make sure he stays that way. Now as I sit here and try to put my thoughts together, how bittersweet I find everything thats happened. Last year on this day, I said goodbye to a grandson for the final time - exactly one year later to the day I find myself saying hello to a new one. I have to believe this is so for a reason, exactly what I will have to decide when I am not so tired, but after all thats happened I am convinced that reason has to be good and not bad. Douglas is beautiful (to me!!) and I got to be there to see him come into this world and take his first breath. I got to sit and hold him and rock him and sing him baby songs and all the while I was doing that, bittersweet memories floated thru my mind. Please whoever is in charge, DON'T let anything happen to him. Douglas, I love you and I'm so very glad you're here - I will treasure every moment with you. Zachariah, I love you and I'm so very glad I had you for the short time I did. I treasure every memory I have of you and I will always miss your presence. And someday I will tell your cousin all about you.... Pattie |
