Like a Snowflakeby Laura Christofk Like a Snowflake Our lives were touched by an angel, briefly but definitely. Like a snowflake, she floated down from heaven for us to marvel at her delicate perfection. Beautiful, innocent Hannah. As the snowflake gently lands on our palm, we can see more clearly its miraculous detail and perfection. God has made every snowflake unique and Hannah was no exception. But a snowflake in all its' exquisite beauty must be appreciated immediately for in a fragile moment its crystals return to water in the warmth of our hand and all we have left of this miracle is a tear drop of clear icy water and the understanding that we were privileged enough to see and touch this one particular snowflake that will never be duplicated again. But angels belong in heaven, next to God, away from pain and sorrow such as we feel now at the loss of precious Hannah. For Jon and Leslie I feel both joy and sadness. Joy that they were deemed worthy to receive such a truly perfect gift from God, even if for only a short while, enriching their lives so completely. Sadness for the emptiness they will feel until they see their beautiful, happy Hannah again one day in heaven. We share that joy and sadness with them. Hannah (TOP banana) Shilling P.S. Friends at work would rhyme Hannah Banana, but I would always insist that they refer to her as " TOP" banana. My little girl was not going to have low self esteem!! - Leslie Shilling |
