Lincoln Allen ParsonsSIDS mom 17 May 1998 My husband Corey and I were so excited about the upcoming birth of our first child, we had decided not to find out if we were having a boy or girl. On Oct. 5,1993 we were blessed with a beautiful son,8lbs 1oz 21in long, it was the greatest day of our lives. I can still remember every second of the delivery. And I still remember the look on Corey's face when the doctor said. It's a boy and he is just fine! I knew at that moment our lives we perfect, we were so happy. We were like every other family, preparing for Christmas, we were trying to decide what we would do as our family tradition. Then our world as we knew it came to a dead stop. While at the sitters on Dec 20,1993, our son stopped breathing while taking his afternoon nap. I was called and told to get home right away, since our sitter was pregnant with her 2nd child I figured she went into early labor. Not knowing how I drove home, I past the squad then I past the sitter...my heart sunk. When I got to the ER, I knew there was something really wrong, I did get to see my son for a short minute, then they put me in a room by myself. Trying to reach family was difficult, it was 5 days before Christmas and people were getting ready. I worked in the same hospital that Lincoln was taken to, so we had a lot of support. The rest is a blur, but we did make it through. We now have 2 more children Courtney 3, Carter 1. Life goes on but you never forget. And Christmas is always the hardest. SIDS mom |
