Your date of becoming an angel is now one year ago today
During the year we have learned to endure pain that doesn't go away

Not a day has passed without longing thoughts of you
What things you would be learning, the funny things you would do

You would be walking, stumbling and babbling with baby chatter
Words we would not quite understand, but it would not matter

Would your love still be so great for buttered bread
Would you still cherish all that is the color red

We miss you so much, More as time goes on and by
We miss your love, your tears, your eyes as bright as the sky

Our lives are forever changed, your loss is almost to great to bear
Things are not taken for granted; each day is a gift to share

Now we stare at the clouds in hope of seeing your angel wings shine
You have become our guardian until we meet again in time

Jesse, we love and cherish you even though we are apart
This love is all we have to soothe our broken hearts
