Our Borrowed Angelby Jennifer King Date: Sat, 15 Nov 1997 Emily was only ours for a short time but we knew from day one how very special she was. " Our Little Angel " is what we called her. She was always happy and had a smile for everyone. She was our pride and joy. On Sept. 26th our lives were changed forever. Emily was taken to the hospital from her babysitter's house because she had stopped breathing. All the way to the hospital I prayed " please God don't take my baby ". The rest of the night is a blur. I don't even remember all of the family that came to see us. We always knew that Emily was an angel, we just hoped that God would let us take care of her for longer than we did. Now that some time has gone by we are able to look back and remember all of the good times. We are thankful that we had her for as long as we did. We've also come to look at what has happened in as positive of a manner as possible. We were able to give her what every parent hopes for their child. She had a perfect life and never knew any of the ugliness that we are faced with every day. All she ever knew was a wonderful life with two parents that love her very much. My only hope is that by sharing our experience we can touch someone else's life in a positive way. I also hope that by working together we can one day discover a reason for this awful thing called SIDS. In time maybe we'll be able to prevent this from happening to the most wonderful of God's creations. Our borrowed angels. I am willing to correspond through e-mail with anyone who cares to.
