Bad day for a "used-to-be" big brotherby Tina Worley I just wanted to write and tell about a bad day my son, Zachary, had today. Last night he watched "Heart and Souls" with me. I thought he had been asleep the whole time, but when the bus came to get each "dead" person and take them "on up" he got very upset. We talked and he wanted the movie to show Heaven. When it didn't he started bawling and said he thought that he would see Janey on the television. Boy, he'll never get to watch T.V. with me after nine again. Then, this morning, he came running out with one of our cat's one week old kittens. It was the only girl out of three and she was dead. He held her little cold body in his hands, crying, and I decided, today, that life sucks pretty bad sometimes. I can handle the grief of losing my 7-month old daughter knowing that we are all going to live through this, but why does my son have to??? He has to live with this much longer than anyone else in the family because he's the youngest. I don't want my son's only experience with a sibling to be death. Sorry I rambled on not making much sense, but it HAS been a hard day. Tina Worley |
