VSD and SIDS

In response a question about a daughter who had a small VSD, but died from SIDS:

Usually, a small VSD does not cause significant problems in the first several years of life. Most will spontaneously close within the first year or two. It would not have caused the death of your daughter or even contributed, based on our current knowledge.
